46% of Votes for NC State Auditor "Up for Grabs" in August poll

In the race for NC State Auditor, 46% of voters are still up for grabs (not definitely voting for Drach, Holmes, or Boliek). Both the closeness of the race and the number of undecides is unique among this year's NC Council of State races.

The candidates’ shares of committed voters, "definitely voting for" in the poll, are basically in-line with each candidates' parties' share of the electorate.

Poll respondents supporting each candidate were asked for their top two issues. Results show a higher percent of Drach's supporters rated economic issues most important.:

According to the poll, among the candidates for NC Auditor, Bob Drach gets a higher % of his support from voters whose top issues include:

  • Inflation/prices

  • Jobs/economy

  • Taxes/spending

Also according to the poll and among the candidates for NC Auditor, Bob Drach gets a higher % of his support from voters who are:

  • 18 to 49 years old

  • Independent

  • Suburban and Urban

  • Holding a graduate degree

These results reflect that voters who want to move beyond the broken two parties are younger, register as unaffiliated or third party, and are less likely to live in rural areas. Additionally, respondents who themselves put in the work for graduate degrees and professional credentials also value the skills Bob brings to the job.
